Kimmel Studio Architects is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architect to join our leadership team. In this role, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our firm. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our architectural practice, from project development to design execution and quality control. Additionally, you will ensure the highest standards of quality control in design drawings, adherence to legal requirements, and review of specifications.

Responsibilities:

Design Oversight

• Assist the Director of Design Devin Kimmel in overseeing the architecture design department.
• Develop firm-wide design standards and provide design direction and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design.
• Review and approve project designs, ensuring they adhere to design principles and industry standards.

Quality Control of Drawings

• Oversee the production of architectural drawings to ensure they meet the highest quality standards.
• Conduct thorough reviews of design drawings to ensure alignment with the design intent.
• Implement and manage a quality control process for all architectural drawings.

Regulatory Compliance and Specifications Review

• Ensure all architectural drawings comply with relevant legal and building code requirements.
• Stay updated with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Review and approve specifications for all architectural drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

Leadership and Management

• Coordinate all project efforts to ensure effective execution and prepare strategic plans.
• Supervise and mentor Project Managers and less experienced staff, providing guidance and ensuring all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction.

Client Relationships

• Lead the development and management of client relationships.
• Manage project budgets and timelines to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Effectively manage the team so that they communicate project progress and address client concerns.

Qualifications:

• Registered Architect: A registered architect.
• Extensive Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in a leading architectural firm, with a proven track record of success in project management, and client relations.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team, delegate effectively, and make sound decisions.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, construction methods, and project management best practices.
• Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

Reporting:

This position will report directly to Devin Kimmel, Managing Principal, and to Maria Ruhlmann, COO.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
