What you will do 

• The Associate Software Developer collaborates closely with agile team members to learn the codebase and product, improve coding skills while supporting the design, or testing, of small functional areas or features by responding to requests from the development team.
• Contribute to the design, or testing, of Kinaxis software components within a functional area or small set of features to support feature development.
• Write, refactor, and/or modify areas of code within a small set of features or automated tests, under the guidance of the developer team.
• Logs defects and works with team to contribute to resolving or re-testing low complexity software defects.
• Eliminate obvious bugs in the product, or in automated tests, and write manual and automated functional tests to apply to functional areas. Submit code for review and incorporate feedback.
• Proactively seeks opportunities to learn and develop including but not limited to participation in a mentoring program, technical training, attending conferences, etc.

• Completion of a specialized college program, and/or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent related discipline.
• 2 years of progressive demonstrable software development skills acquired through institutional or self-paced education and/or coops/internships.
• A clear, concise, and professional communicator with the ability to present information and demonstrate knowledge. High functioning team member with effective communication skills. Offers recommendation and actively participates in discussions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Plans their work with effective self-awareness and self-regulation, actively listens before formulating recommendations or solutions.

What we are looking for

• Working knowledge of basic programing languages.
• Ability to solicit, productively discuss and incorporate feedback from development team. Builds an environment of mutual trust and respect among colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
• Understands the difference between unit, integration and E2E tests and when to use each. Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies and technologies.
• Basic design skills that are focused on quality standards.
