Job Title: Family Advocate

Job Overview:
As a Family Advocate, you will play a crucial role in supporting families in need by providing advocacy, guidance, and resources to promote their well-being. You will work closely with families facing various challenges, such as child welfare issues, behavioral health concerns, and crisis situations as a result of allegations of abuse and/or sexual assault. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety and stability of families while advocating for their rights and best interests.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with families to assess their needs and develop individualized service plans
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to families experiencing difficulties
- Advocate for families within the legal system, including court proceedings
- Coordinate with social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families
- Assist families in accessing community resources such as counseling services, housing assistance, and financial support
- Maintain accurate records of interactions with families and progress towards goals

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience working with children, particularly in child welfare or trauma-informed care
• Experience with case management and crisis intervention
• Understanding of child development and family dynamics
• Knowledge of child abuse and neglect indicators
• Familiarity with child welfare systems and laws
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
• Strong understanding of behavioral health issues affecting children and families
• Ability to handle crisis situations with empathy and professionalism
• Proficiency in conflict management and problem-solving
• Familiarity with community resources for family support services

Pay: $45,760.00 per year
