About Our Technical Lead:

The Technical Lead role is central to our mission of revitalizing vintage automobiles by equipping them with electric power. This hands-on position involves the meticulous disassembly of vehicles, supporting the design and assembly of electric conversion prototypes, and ensuring the workshop remains organized and efficient. Responsibilities also extend to managing parts from research to inventory, documenting assembly processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our conversion methods. Ideal candidates bring technical skill, a detail-oriented approach, and a passion for sustainable automotive innovation, helping to drive the future of electric classic cars.

Some of the things you will do as a Technical Lead:

  • Works closely with Design Lead in the assembly of prototypes
  • Gives feedback to Design Lead on designs and part selection.
  • Communicates design shortcomings and improvements to Design Lead and Engineer
  • Works with Design Engineer and Design Lead to design and fabricate new parts and part improvements.
  • Uses in-house technology to record and update processes, parts and tools in the assembly of prototype vehicles.
  • Supervision of junior techs
  • Assesses parts quality.
  • Research alternate parts.
  • Contributes to overall shop cleanliness and organization.

Some of the Things We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in all aspects of a ground up automotive restoration.
  • A passion for automotive restoration and the electric vehicle conversion process.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Comfort with technology for design and documentation tasks.
  • Valid driver's license for vehicle testing and errands.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision in all tasks.
  • Positive attitude and a good sense of humor to fit into our team culture.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Organizational skills to maintain neatness and order in the workspace.
  • Strong communication abilities for effective teamwork and project updates.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding is desirable.
  • Interest in Electric Vehicle conversions to contribute to innovative projects.
  • ASE Certification is desirable.
  • Skills in automotive drawing, sketching, and familiarity with CAD software like Onshape, PLM tools like Arena, and inventory systems like Fishbowl.
  • Fabrication skills.
  • CNC and/or traditional machining experience is desirable.

Position Status: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Walking, sitting, standing, bending and stooping. Lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Clean and well-organized unconditioned shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times requires ear plugs, use of eye protection, and/or occasional use of a respirator.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
