Responsibility & Authority:

Personnel with the job title listed above have the responsibility & authority to perform the following functions & employment requirements listed below.

Summary:

Coordinates with Manufacturing Manager and leads to preset tools as well as manage tooling inventory and fixtures.

Function:

• Assemble and tear down of tooling such as end mills, drills, reamers and boring bars
• Pre-setting of tools using a Kaiser Pre-setter and download offsets into a CNC program
• Maintain fixture locations and back up tooling
• Maintain & distribute tooling boxes as necessary
• Determine tooling catalog numbers from distributor and fill out necessary order forms to submit for approval and purchase
• Receive delivered product on VISUAL
• Distribute received product as required
• Maintain Quality standards and Objectives
• Support 6S and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives
• Trains and instructs other employees as directed
• Other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of electro/mechanical principles is preferred
• Knowledge of tool room surface grinder a plus
• Basic computer skills required
• Requires good eye/hand coordination and the ability to operate hand and power tools
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instruction
• Requires strong attention to detail, safety consciousness and concern for quality work
• Must be able to work both independently and as a team member and requires the ability to make independent decisions to ensure customer satisfaction

Job Demands-Physical:

Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds without assistance. May require standing.

Interfaces with management, leads, machinists and inspection.

Working Conditions:

• Subject to high-pitched noises.
• Requires exercise of care and safe work practice to avoid injury.
• Designated areas require safety glasses and other PPE as required.
