The Position: Drawing on extensive professional baking knowledge and experience, the Baker Support Specialists serve as the primary resource for customers across multiple digital channels, offering expert guidance for all baking adventures and mishaps. As a central source of King Arthur’s baking and product knowledge, they provide reliable, personalized support to enhance customer satisfaction. Beyond the baking advisory role, they support the larger Customer Support team in various capacities, including managing customer orders, responding to inquiries via email and chat, and performing related duties.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite in White River Junction, VT roughly 3 days per quarter. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2–3-hour drive of our offices.

The Pay: Starting pay is between $18.87 - $21.28 per hour worked.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Provide professional baking and product advice to a diverse customer base, in a fast-paced environment, across voice and multiple digital channels.
  • Leverages effective problem-solving skills to provide a first contact resolution to baking and product questions resulting in ahigh level of satisfaction in all customer interactions.
  • Primary digital and voice resource for baking and product knowledge, sharing expertise with both customers and coworkers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to update product information, recipes, and maintain up-to-date baking resources.
  • Participate in special assignments from other departments and occasionally test recipes and products, providing actionable feedback.
  • Create and modify customer orders and account information using a combination of software.
  • Assist customers navigating our website; troubleshoot and solve related technical issues.
  • Be a brand ambassador; educating customers about our history, products, values, and our impact.

Education and experience

  • Culinary degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional baking experience in a restaurant, bakery, or comparable position
  • We value those who can demonstrate capability and articulate how prior experiences will help them transition into this role

Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers to understand their needs and convey information clearly and accurately. Ability to communicate customer feedback and insights to relevant departments to promote a seamless customer experience and contribute to overall company success.

Problem-Solving Ability: Strong problem-solving skills needed to analyze baking questions and identify possible issues and develop creative solutions to address customer concerns promptly and effectively.

Customer Service: Using empathy and patience to build rapport with customers. Understand and address customer frustrations with a compassionate approach can turn negative experiences into positive outcomes.

Team Collaboration: The ability to collaborate effectively and positively to resolve customer issues that may require cross-functional coordination, as well as to maintain a high engagement level with colleagues to promote positive department culture and customer outcomes.

Indoors, a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature changes. This role operates in a professional office environment or at a home office where most work is performed at a desk using multiple monitors and headsets. Remote work environment that meets KAB standards for work.
