We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Refrigeration Mechanic/Trailer Technician to join our team. As a Transport Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems on Refrigerated trailers. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our reefer units as well as our clients' refrigerated transportation units.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems on reefer trailers to identify malfunctions and determine the necessary repairs.
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and motors.
• Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration systems, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical connections.
• Install new refrigeration units on reefer trailers according to specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct performance tests and make adjustments to ensure proper temperature control and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working with refrigerants, electrical systems, and other potentially hazardous materials.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to transport refrigeration systems.
• Perform PM services on trailers, refrigeration units, and APU units.
• FHWA inspections on trailers.
• Perform brake replacement on trailers.
• Repair trailer ABS brake system.
• Perform tire repairs and replacement on trucks and trailers.-DO WE WANT TO TAKE THIS OFF SINCE YOU HAVE TIRE TECHS?
• Perform body, structural, rear door, and electrical repairs on trailers.
• Maintains a clean shop.
• Maintains confidentiality of all company information.
• Maintains Transport and Customer standards and policies
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical program in refrigeration mechanics is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Transport Refrigeration Mechanic/Trailer Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of transport refrigeration systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration units, including knowledge of electrical systems, refrigerants, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants is a plus.
