The Airport Division is seeking a passionate, experienced, and tech-savvy team player for records management with an interest in technology, device, and asset management. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of public records management best practices and a familiarity with engineering, properties, maintenance, and environmental records in a government agency. In alignment with King County International Airport’s (KCIA) vision of being a world-class airport by 2030, we are enhancing support to our team with redefining how we integrate our work with King County’s robust enterprise content management system and being responsible stewards of our technology resources.
The Data and Equipment Coordinator will serve as the Airport’s lead for records, records retention, and technology equipment. This exciting position will contain career growth opportunities for receiving training to work with various business applications and systems related to records management and technology devices management. This recruitment is to fill a Special Duty Assignment or Term Limited Temporary Position that is anticipated to last until 12/31/2024 based on business need. Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to:- Manage ordering, setup, documentation, distribution, training, troubleshooting of technology equipment, software, connectivity, and devices;
- Prepare documents for storage, archiving, and/or destruction including document imaging and/or electronic file copies; participate in and facilitate the transfer of department records to inactive storage and archives based on King County’s records management policies and procedures;
- Lead in the maintenance, evaluation, refinement, and implementation of a centralized records management system for inventorying, maintaining, retrieving, storing, and archiving records include both hard copies and electronic format;
- Recommend process improvements and implement as approved, leading data migration from local servers to Microsoft SharePoint; Problem-solving and troubleshooting KCIA’s records management issues and challenges; technical solutions and records advice; workflow processes causing duplication of records or efforts;
- Develop, coordinate, and provide customized and one-on-one training to staff on records management standards and retention, enterprise content management system and operational use of mobile devices and equipment;
- Point of contact and liaison with KCIT, vendors, and other internal/external partners on users technical/technology issues and print management services including plotters, printers, and technology supplies.
We are looking for candidates who are: - Tech savvy and comfortable working with current technology on a daily basis in their work. The county uses Microsoft 365, Content Management Systems, and other software/hardware;
- Customer-focused and enjoys providing support to staff and end users with a variety of technical skills and understanding;
- Experience with hardware such as Windows laptops, mobile devices (e.g. iPads, iPhones, Androids), CradlePoints, A/V equipment, projectors, printers, plotters, etc;
- Experience with software such as Microsoft Applications (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Microsoft PowerBI, Excel);
- Interested in learning and growing their knowledge of records management, indexing, and archival theories and practices;
- Excellent communicators who feel comfortable interfacing with airport staff and able to train on best practices with records management and equipment usage;
- Work comfortably with a document or Content Management System experience;
- Interested in government and has curiosity learning about rules and regulations around our work;
- Is a team player; understands how to work well as a team and supportive of coworkers.
