The Children, Youth and Young Adults Division (CYYAD) is one of five divisions in DCHS and provides employment and education services to youth and young adults, residing within King County. CYYAD is seeking an energetic and hardworking individual to join our team as a Management Information Systems (MIS) Program Specialist, PPM I.
This position
develops, coordinates, and implements processes, procedures, and tools for the programs within CYYAD’s direct services unit. In addition, the Program Specialist reviews program applications for
compliance, apply appropriate
funding to support participant endeavors,
manage billing for college programs, and serve as a liaison during
program audits. The Program Specialist may also provide functional supervision of support and technical staff. The position requires advanced skills and
technical expertise. This work is performed semi-independently as part of CYYAD’s Management Information System’s team.
This recruitment is to fill a Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position that is anticipated to end December 31, 2025. If filled by a King County employee who has passed their initial probation, the TLT will be as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA).- At least 5 years’ experience in data quality assurance, document management, and providing technical assistance to staff.
- At least 3 years’ experience providing direction/training to other staff, including interpretation of complex Federal, State, and local requirements and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and execute complex verbal and written instructions and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to analyze fiscal and program data.
- Ability to work with creativity and flexibility, both independently and as a team member; to work under deadlines and on several tasks simultaneously; and to organize and prioritize quickly in response to changing needs.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in interactions with funders, staff, and partners; especially the ability to maintain professional, cooperative, and courteous relationships even in difficult situations.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, including working knowledge of SharePoint.
- Excellent reading comprehension, reasoning, writing and oral communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a diverse environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Open Doors or Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) program processes.
- Familiarity with Employment Security Department (ESD) Efforts to Outcomes database.
- Supervision of technical staff, in an administrative or operational setting.
