The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. You will monitor the companys financial status, review quarterly and annual budgets and manage accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), job cost accounting, and experience with risk management. Ultimately, youll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks.
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the companys performance.
Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on cost, profits, capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Perform internal audits and works with external auditors, and provides needed information for the annual audit.
Files quarterly, annual, and other financial statuary reports with federal, state, and local agencies as required.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Work experience as a Controller or similar role.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.
Experience with cash management and risk assessment.

Ability to work with tight deadlines
Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Proficient in accounting software

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Ten years or more of related experience preferred.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Able to travel as needed.
