Fleet Mechanic & General Maintenance Technician Job Overview: High level Automotive Mechanic with an excellent understanding of automotive repair and maintenance procedures. Skilled in troubleshooting various automotive problems and operating auto repair tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Automobile Mechanic:
Inspect internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulations.
Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear and tear.
Repairs and/or replaces parts as needed.
Maintains accurate records relating to vehicles, parts and service history.
Troubleshoots issues with cars, vans and light trucks.
Performs basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts
Serves as the main point of contact for our ministry vehicles and golf carts.
Operates forklift, bobcat, and lift when needed.
Purchases materials, tools and supplies to fill the jobs requisitions.
Reviews GPS reports and updates the Facilities Manager with findings.
Advises Maintenance Manager of any and all findings as well as recommendations.
Assists the maintenance team during events and/or when the team is short staffed.
Assists with the control of vehicles according to the reservations and car requests.
Other job duties as required.
General Maintenance:
Performs highly diversified duties such as: installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the facility, equipment, and vehicles according to safety, preventative, and proactive maintenance schedules
Conducts routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (carpentry, electrical, heating, etc.)
Inspects buildings, equipment, grounds and systems to identify any issues to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
Completes maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
Performs a variety of locksmith duties: install, repair, and replace locks on doors.
Provides maintenance and repairs on all floors, ceilings, walls, roofs, furniture, HVAC systems, building exterior gates, plumbing issues, and electrical issues.
Provides support in moving office furniture to different locations.
Assists in remodeling offices
Works with the Office Manager to purchase materials, tools and supplies to fill the jobs requisitions when necessary.
Adjusts the temperature of the air conditioner in all the premises when necessary.
Professional Qualifications
Knowledge of servicing and minor maintenance of automotive and other power-driven equipment.
Knowledge of oils, greases, and lubrication devices, and other tools and materials used in servicing equipment.
Ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints
Knowledge of and ability to uses maintenance and diagnostic tools, materials and equipment properly
Able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish fluently.
Must have intermediate knowledge of maintenance-related tasks.
Has knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, and internet software. (Preferred)
Must be able to adapt to changes in the department and meet demands.
Able to lift and/ or move up to 100 lbs and work in environments exposed to wet or humid conditions related and unrelated to weather.
Should be skilled in problem solving and in effective communication
Certificates and Licenses:
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification
Motor Vehicle Repair Registration (MVRR)
MEWP Certified Operator - (Prefered)
Heavy Equipment (Prefered)
Forklift Certified Operator (Prefered)
Education and/or Experience Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or vocational/ technical school certification. Two to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
