King's Pointe Resort, along with S&L Hospitality, is currently accepting resumes for a Director of Sales who will strive to accomplish marketing and sales objectives daily, monthly and quarterly by developing and focusing on sales action plans; identifies marketing and public relations opportunities within the community, state and region; be responsible for managing departmental expenses; responsible for developing and maintaining rapport with key accounts of the hotel.
Some responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Enhances overall job knowledge by participating in approved educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations, local associations, Chamber of Commerce events, CVB and state tourism committees. Should be an active member of the community by attending local events such as ribbon cuttings, mixers, charity events, etc.
  • Is responsible for booking Group business, creating and delivery of group contracts, monitoring group pick-up, and reservations for rooming lists, monitoring group check-in/out, guest satisfaction while in-house and follow-up evaluation for rebooking.
  • May occasionally be asked to assist with a front desk shift when scheduling emergencies arrive.
  • Stays competitive in the market by staying up to date on area hotel rates, programs, corporate business and occupancies.
  • Is responsible for booking Meeting room business, creating and delivery of meeting room contracts, setup of meeting room, scheduling catering needs and monitoring meeting room needs, as client requires.
  • Collaborating with other property leaders such as the General Manager, Executive Housekeeper, Chief Engineer, Catering Supervisor and the F&B Manager to ensure a fluid experience for guests attending an event.
  • Develops annual Marketing Plan for the hotel with final approval by the Corporate Director of Sales.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as identified within the employee handbook and management company guidelines. Maintains overall "Confidentiality" of information as it relates to the brand, S&L Hospitality and ownership.
Qualifications:
  • Previous hotel sales experience required. Previous hotel marketing experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to make sales calls (scheduled appointments and cold calls).
  • Previous experience with managing key sales accounts and targeting prospects within a designated region required.
  • Must have the ability to develop rapport with hotel clients and maintain strong working relationships.
  • BA/BS in Sales Communications, Marketing, or Hotel & Restaurant Management or at least two years experience in similar position preferred.
