Come join the award-winning King's Pointe Resort in Storm Lake, IA! We are currently accepting resumes for the F&B Resort Manager role.

The F&B Resort Manager is responsible for the staffing and motivation of a professional Restaurant team, staff morale and training;

maintaining prime condition of all operating equipment; full responsibility for payroll costs and other expenses, planning and expediting new menu concepts and trends (in conjunction with the General Manager and Kitchen Supervisor), all within the boundaries of the Hotel’s expectations.

Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all the Restaurant, with the prime objective of providing a first-class product, timeously and of an excellent standard, in keeping with the established Hotel Standards of Performance (SOP) Manuals.

This role would also have oversight of the concession stand that services the indoor / outdoor waterpark guests as well as event catering both on and off-site.

Some Responsibilities Include - but are not limited to

  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.
  • Develops means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities, etc .
  • Identifies opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change.
  • Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of food and beverage (e.g., pre-shift meeting, pre-banquet meal briefings, staff meetings, culinary team meeting).
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and entire food & beverage team.

Ensures direct reports do the same for their team.

  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop the Restaurant team.
  • Execute and manage Food and Beverage budget.
  • Monitors the department’s actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded and opportunities are identified and addressed.
  • Ensures cash control and liquor control policies are in place in food & beverage areas and followed by all related employees.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate inventories of Food & Beverage on monthly basics.
  • Focuses on maintaining profit margins without compromising guest or employee satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities and Other Qualities

  • Must be customer service oriented and a team player
  • Must have the ability to work independently, a willingness to learn, and good communication skill

Experience Training and Education

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent
  • 2- year Business Degree preferred
  • Requires an occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, on-the-job training, and essential experience in restaurant and management positions.
