Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the radiologist, performs appropriate diagnostic exams and studies to ensure safe, high quality patient care. Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure. Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes. Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times (start and stop), patient reactions or problems, and reports concerns or issues immediately to supervisor. Documents patient and exam occurrences in the appropriate Imaging software database, to include exam start and complete times.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program
  • Licensure/Certification: Current registration and licensure by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS)
  • Licensure/Certification: Current registration and licensure by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certification: American Heart Association BLS
Preferences: Education preferred from an educational institution approved by ARRT, Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), or the American College of Radiology (ACR).
