Kinsa is recruiting for a: Quality / Food Safety Manager – Food ManufacturingLocation: Lodi, NJ (Onsite Monday – Friday)
Our client is a frozen pizza and breadsticks food manufacturer. The mission for the Quality / Food Safety Manager is to provide strong guidance and inspiring leadership for QC to sanitation, plant, employees, and visitors. The Quality / Food Safety Manager will have responsibility for effectively implementing quality assurance policies and programs in the manufacturing operation as well as managing HAACP, product hold and recall programs, internal and external audits, and food safety compliance. They will work closely with 4 direct reports and 9 others indirectly.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE 3-5 years of FDA Quality and Food Safety leadership experience within a similar food manufacturing setting.Compensation/Benefits:
  • $90,000 – $115,000 BOE
  • 10% bonus potential

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
  • Implement Quality policies and programs to ensure food safety and compliance with Company policies, GFSI, and Federal and State regulations.
  • Set Quality goals and objectives that complement company policies and goals.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between the plant and regulators (USDA, FDA, auditors, etc.)
  • Implement sanitation program to ensure food safety and compliance with company and GFSI standards, and Federal and State laws and guidelines
  • Directly supervise 2 Supervisors and 2 full-time QC employees. Provide training, coaching, discipline, recognition, and leadership as appropriate.
  • Develop and monitor QC and sanitation budgets.
Competencies Needed for Success:
  • 3-5 years' experience in frozen food manufacturing operations and/or QC experience in food processing
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is PREFERRED
  • Must have working knowledge of food safety/sanitation principles and practices, TQM, computer systems, production processes and equipment used in the food industry.
  • Must be HACCP or PCQI certified. USDA experience is a PLUS
  • Ability to work onsite full-time M-F
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
