KIPP Delta is part of the nationwide KIPP non-profit network of 275 college-preparatory, public charter schools educating early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students. KIPP Delta currently serves more than 1,200 students across 5 schools in Helena and Blytheville, AR.

Job Description

The Managing Director of Student Success & School Alignment (MDSS) provides essential alignment and oversight uniting programs, policies, and systems that ensure a seamless PK to 12 experience for every KIPP Delta student. A member of KIPP Delta’s Senior Leadership Team, the MDSS manages programmatic investments (KIPP Forward), core organizational infrastructure (school and student-facing policies, network compliance and reporting, master scheduling), and targeted interventions (via Student Success Coordinators) to ensure a unified and cohesive ecosystem of support across all KIPP Delta schools.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the MDSS works in close cross-functional partnership with the Managing Director of Academics and Director of Leader Development to ensure tight alignment of academic and school-based systems and practices across the network.

The Managing Director of Student Success will focus on:

Network Strategy & Alignment (20%)

  • Establish a model for a best-in-class PK-12 student support continuum by setting and communicating vision, setting short term (6 months-1 year) and long term (3-5 years) strategic goals centered on measurable student outcomes, and developing and effectively implementing strategy to achieve those goals. 

  • Partner cross-functionally with key stakeholders including the Executive Director, Managing Director of Academics, and Director of Leader Development to design and implement aligned academic strategy driving top-tier student outcomes across all KIPP Delta schools

  • Build sustaining and aligned network-level systems, practices, and policies to steward consistently top-tier outcomes for all students across all subgroups.

KIPP Forward Program Management (40%)

  • Oversee the execution of KIPP Delta’s KIPP Forward initiatives, including college and career readiness, postsecondary matriculation, persistence, and alumni support programs that lead to completion and/or graduation. 

  • Serve as a regional and nationwide figurehead for KIPP Delta’s college and career efforts; build strategic, mutually beneficial relationships with potential funders and community partners centered on driving outcomes for KIPP Delta students. 

  • Manage the research, establishment, and maintenance of long-term relationships within the college admissions arena, as well as maintain awareness of the higher education and career attainment landscape. 

  • Work with school leadership and appropriate stakeholders across all grade levels to develop a strong college-going culture and continuum across PK-12 through aligned coursework, systematized and integrated supports, and organizational culture, traditions, and artifacts .

  • Supervise the registration process and other related issues regarding college admission-focused standardized tests including ACT, SAT, ASVAB, and TSI. 

  • Manage strategy and execution of school-based parent/guardian engagement programming that guides, invests, and supports families through the college search, admissions, financial aid, ACT, and alumni matriculation. 

  • Work with school-based stakeholders to develop a regional scope and sequence of recognition to ensure students and alumni receive appropriate celebrations for effort, growth, and achievement on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Organizational Policy, Compliance, and Reporting (20%)

  • With students and families at the center, audit, develop, and implement aligned student and school-facing policies covering (but not limited to) master scheduling, course tracking, concurrent enrollment, graduation requirements, grading, attendance, credit recovery, internal/external transfers, student exit, etc. Annually revise and update the Student & Family Handbook annually.

  • Develop and implement practices (trainings, tools, accountability supports) to ensure consistent and equitable policy administration across the network both at Central Office and the school level. 

  • Oversee management of state, national, and KIPP Foundation compliance and reporting requirements; ensure the implementation of of sustaining internal systems to drive efficient compliance and reporting practices

  • Oversee management of vendor/partner relationships and compliance/reporting/data systems implementation 

Team Leadership, Management & Development (20%)

  • Serve as a member of KIPP Delta’s Senior Leadership Team

  • Manage and develop the team responsible for student success outcomes at KIPP Delta, including guidance and intervention services (Student Success Coordinators), compliance and systems reporting, enrollment and registrar responsibilities (Data / SIS Managers), and college and career readiness (KIPP Forward.), ensuring opportunities for skill development, feedback, growth, and professional advancement.

  • Initiate, model and consistently demonstrate cross-functional collaboration and communication; model high expectations, organizational beliefs, inclusive language, and a deep belief in the ability of all students to be successful at KIPP Delta.

  • Build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally, cultivate partnerships and represent KIPP Delta externally to increase organizational visibility, influence policy, and promote organizational goals and collaboration to the benefit of long-term organizational results.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of work experience, including 2 years of as a high-performing regional leader and effective people manager, who has documented results driving outcomes at scale; PK-12 and charter experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong orientation to data and data analysis skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and disaggregate data, identify trends, and use data to drive decision making.

  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate, motivate, and influence others to act. A strong desire to partner with school leaders and central office teammates in service to five unified schools. 

  • Proven leadership and management skills, particularly in building teams, promoting collaboration, navigating conflict to optimal results, strategic goal setting, and holding self and others accountable.

  • Demonstrated experience leading through layers of adults to achieve measurable results.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated success in building a program, department, and/or organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master's level degree preferred.

  • Must live within commuting distance of Helena or Blytheville, AR or a surrounding community, or be willing to relocate. This role is 100% in-person.

Salary

  • KIPP Delta offers competitive salary and benefits packages. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000
