Technical Communications Coordinator Position Purpose

Responsible for assisting the General Service Manager of the Crane Division by addressing technical inquiries from Customers, Parts and Service departments, Crane Rental and Sales departments, and Manufacturers to ensure customer satisfaction, drive rental and sales performance, and adhere to manufacturer standards.

Technical Communications Coordinator Essential Functions 

• Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
• Manages internal equipment issues
• Oversees internal equipment matters, including those at branch locations lacking Crane PSM or Parts Personnel by providing technical support for used, trade-in, and rental fleet equipment. Coordinate with manufacturers as needed and implement solutions in collaboration with Product Service Managers or customers
• Oversees customer equipment concerns, encompassing branch locations lacking Crane PSM or Parts Personnel. Provide technical support for new and used sales, rental fleet, and other customer-owned units. Liaise with manufacturers as required and execute solutions with Product Service Managers, staff, or directly with customers
• Interacts with customers to discuss requirements and collaborate on developing and submitting plans to manufacturers like Manitowoc Lift Solutions and Broderson Engineering. These plans may involve modifications, attachment additions, engineering tasks, and parameter adjustment procedures
• Engage with customers to facilitate communication and coordinate the development and submission of requests to manufacturers for structural repair procedures
• Manage and deliver comprehensive training sessions on crane operations, covering tasks such as assembly, disassembly, loading, unloading, repairs, boom removal and assembly, off-rent inspections, and annual inspections
• Oversee and deliver targeted safety training for personnel within the crane division. This training encompasses essential topics such as hand signals, job site safety protocols, and workshop safety procedures
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Technical Communications Coordinator Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ten (10) years of Service experience on National, Grove, Manitowoc, Broderson, and other Crane
• Proficient in interpret technical data, operating maintenance, instructions, and parts, repair, and procedure manuals
• Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence
• Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications

Technical Communications Coordinator Physical Requirements

• Lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance
• The ability to drive locally and to sit for long periods
