Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) is Hiring a Director of Marketing & Communications Near Reston, VA

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) is a trade association representing the interests of kitchen, bath, and other residential cabinet manufacturers and suppliers that serve the US market. We are seeking a sharp, self-motivated, well-rounded individual to help shape and manage the Association’s digital presence and expand and manage its marketing/communications and membership programs. As an important member of the KCMA team, the ideal candidate will be a fast, creative thinker who will bring new ideas and energy to the position and to the Association.

You must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment given the variety of activities and deadlines associated with this position.

You must be able to interface with a variety of constituents – members, committees, staff, outside agencies, and vendors.

You must bring a can-do attitude and be able to collaborate with Association members and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing/Communications

  • Work with internal staff and outside consultants to develop and execute social media strategies and campaigns.
  • Branding KCMA and three certification programs.
  • Work with new marketing firm on marketing/branding
  • Manage social analytics and reporting
  • Create and edit high-quality content, including writing for the website, social media, newsletters, blogs, press releases, and more
  • Bring new ideas and energy to KCMA
  • Work as an integral part of the management team
  • Work with entire KCMA team to execute the Association’s strategic plan and value proposition in the area of communications and membership development
  • Develop marketing campaigns in conjunction with firm to recruit and retain KCMA certification participants and members
  • Manage the promotion, planning, and execution of monthly webinars

Membership

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members via leadership over the Communications Committee, Emerging Leaders Council, and Small Business Cabinet Council. This involves preparing for committee meetings, drafting minutes, and incorporating the committee recommendations into the Association’s programs
  • Manage manager of membership
  • Solicit advertising/sponsorships/webinars for Associate Members.
  • Attend spring/fall meetings and two additional meetings per year.
  • Work with consultant on monthly (1), annual(2), and biennial(1) surveys - Promote member participation in survey; prepare monthly digital press release for Trend of Business survey; promote and launch other surveys and work with consultants to produce final reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree

5-10 years experience in digital marketing, communications and social media strategy and execution

Association membership management experience preferable

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to think creatively and strategically

Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail

Exceptionally strong writing skill

Ability to manage PR firm

Ability to work with committees and task groups

Should be familiar with the following platforms (or equivalents): Cvent, Adobe (publisher, InDesign), Drupal, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office
