What does the position entail?
We’re looking for a team-oriented and passionate individual to join our growing Production team. As a Plant Manager, you will help grow and maintain Kitchen Magic’s Production Department.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and fabrication of custom cabinetry. The Plant Manager will manage the entire production process, from planning and scheduling, production, quality control, and shipment of finished products. This includes supervising a team of production staff, ensuring that all employees follow established safety procedures and adhere to production timelines and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and manages the production team. Provide leadership and support to team members and address any performance issues as needed.
- Promotes a positive environment that encourages team cohesiveness that leads to a higher quality product, increased productivity, and overall customer satisfaction through strong leadership acumen.
- Ability to develop and share best practices across the organization. Implement continuous improvement opportunities utilizing lean principles to minimize waste, and continuously improve the company's products.
- Responsible for managing inventory levels to ensure that raw materials and finished products are available when needed. Work with the purchasing team to ensure that materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Coordinating the maintenance of the building and site including all manufacturing equipment, building structure, heating and cooling systems and company property and grounds. Will oversee the fleet management including maintenance, leasing, inspections, and vehicle damage remediation.
- Ensures that all production processes comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Establish and implement manufacturing plans while closely monitoring job progress. Maintain production schedule to ensure proper workload.
- Responsible for appraising performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
- Champion a safe work environment on a daily basis by supporting and promoting the company’s safety programs.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations with demonstrated progressively increasing leadership responsibilities required.
- General knowledge of carpentry and/or cabinet making a plus.
- Must excel in planning and establishing priorities while demonstrating flexibility and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects; maintain order and organization.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- A natural problem solver, with an analytical approach, always driving for continuous improvement.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and LEAN techniques (how, when, who).
- Excellent communicator
- Strong track record of people development, cultivating employee engagement.
- Direct management experience for a salaried and hourly employee population and its performance
