Babcock Ranch, America’s first solar powered town seeks an experienced Water Treatment Operator for the Lead position at Town & Country Utility. This position is responsible for operating and managing the water treatment plant on an assigned shift; leads and participates with staff responsible for the operation and maintenance of Town & Country Utilities water treatment, water quality, and related technical treatment processes. Incumbent performs related maintenance-oriented tasks, keeps records, prepares reports, and performs a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Must have Class “A” FDEP Drinking Water license.

Responsibilities:

· Performs the more complex and specialized tasks while exhibiting initiative, advanced technical skills, broader discretion, and independent judgment within established guidelines as outlined by the Utility Operation Manager or Utility Director.

· Effective leadership and full participation in all scopes of water treatment, water quality, and technical treatment processes.

· Monitors and adjusts the performance of all equipment, gauges in the water treatment plants; records statistical data concerning plant operations; maintains, operates, repairs, and replaces equipment as necessary; reviews lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analyses and test results; evaluates data and drafts reports as required or directed.

· Reports all plant malfunctions to Utility Operation Manager and makes all repairs to gages, pumps, and all other controls and equipment appurtenances as necessary.

· Trains new water treatment plant operators for plant operational and maintenance procedures.

· Compose site specific standard operating procedures and review them with the Utility Operation Manager for implementation.

· Work with Utility Operations Manager in reviewing budgetary requirements needed for the continued facility care and upkeep.

• Strong working knowledge of water treatment plant operations

· Possess proper utility knowledge and the ability to interpret regulations affecting the ongoing operations and maintenance of the water treatment facility

Educations and/or Experience:

• High school diploma
• Water plant operator level “A” by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
