Our dynamic, rapidly scaling team at KJ Injury & Accident Lawyers is in search of an impactful HR Generalist to bring their expertise and people management skills to our client-centric, personal injury practice.

Successful candidates will possess a deep understanding of compliance and CA laws, is an expert in the firm’s HR policies, and provides assistance to employees in resolving complex issues. They will be responsibile for the following functional areas of recruitment, orientation, employee relations, safety and employee retention. This position will partner with the Director of Operations to handle all aspects of the office.

Responsibilities:

• Manage overall HR office operations, including staffing, onboarding new employees, and provide administrative leadership to obtain office goals.
• Manage and resolve problems as they arise.
• Foster positive relationships with attorneys and staff, assist with attorney onboarding.
• Collaborate with firm management to implement and communicate firm policies and procedures; recommend and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to maximize operational efficiency.
• Manage PTO requests and back-up coverage, approve timecards and follow up with any issues identified in work hours, workload, or timecard practices.
• Responsible for legal support, general services, and reception staff assignments, addressing problems or complaints, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Identify performance strengths and weaknesses and provide feedback. Responsible for completing performance evaluations.
• Update job descriptions as staff roles evolve and change over time.
• Assist the firm with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred;
• 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist required, HR Manager experience preferred
• 2-5 years of experience with a law firm or other professional services firm with 50 staff strongly preferred
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
• Ability to anticipate, and identify problems/issues and recommend and implement alternative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong, effective time-management and sense of urgency
• Proficiency with various computer software applications (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Paylocity experience perferred
