This role involves performing a variety of complex clerical and administrative tasks related to the enforcement of water law, administrative rules, and agency policies. The position requires independent judgment, initiative, and occasional assistance for new or unusual situations. The Ideal CandidateOur Administrative Assistant should possess strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and proficiency in database operations and Microsoft Office programs. The candidate should have a valid driver’s license, demonstrate sound judgment, and have the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
Perform complex clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, verification, and quality assurance checks
Maintain and organize both paper and computer filing systems, indices, and registers
Assist the public in person and by telephone, answering complex questions and interpreting departmental policies
Manage office functions, including reception duties, file record searches, and providing documents to the public
Perform department accounting and bookkeeping functions, maintain balance of department budgetary accounts, and prepare cash transmittal envelopes
Maintain payroll, personnel, inventory, and property control records, compile information for fiscal year budget
Serve as secretary for water-related meetings, attend meetings, and transcribe minutes
Operate various office equipment and machines
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license
