Position: Custodial Supervisor

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4pm

Reports To: Site Project Manager and Company Operations Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodial Supervisor. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the custodial staff and ensuring the facility maintains a clean and sanitary environment. This supervisory position involves managing the cleaning of various areas, including restrooms, lounges, waiting rooms, lobbies, offices, conference rooms, corridors, floors, and storage rooms. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall well-being of visitors and staff by ensuring that the facility remains a safe and hygienic space.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of custodial staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
2. Perform and oversee routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in designated areas.
3. Ensure restrooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, maintaining a high standard of hygiene.
4. Maintain cleanliness and presentability in lounges, waiting rooms, lobbies, and other public areas for patients and visitors.
5. Supervise the cleaning and sanitizing of offices, conference rooms, and corridors on a regular basis.
6. Oversee the cleaning of windows and glass surfaces to maintain a streak-free and clear appearance.
7. Ensure high-touch surfaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a safe environment.
8. Manage the emptying and disposal of trash in accordance with established procedures, ensuring waste receptacles are clean and appropriately lined.
9. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, keeping an inventory of supplies, and managing orders to prevent shortages.
10. Report any maintenance issues or repair needs to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
11. Train, mentor, and evaluate custodial staff, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures related to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
12. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and vendors.
13. Uphold company policies and procedures and ensure compliance among the custodial team.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Preferred Experience: Previous supervisory experience in janitorial or custodial work.
  • Ideal Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of janitorial or custodial experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfection techniques, including the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Understanding of infection control practices and the ability to adhere to hospital cleaning standards and protocols.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained. Ability to work independently and manage a team.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting (minimum of 50 lbs) and frequent bending and standing for extended periods.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and follow instructions effectively. Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
• Listening Skills: Must possess strong active listening skills to comprehend and follow verbal instructions accurately, crucial for understanding and adhering to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
• Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate the hospital's operational needs.
• Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in custodial management is a plus.

Requirements:

• Administrative:
  • Valid driver's license.
• Background Checks:
  • Completion of a comprehensive federal background check.
  • Clean criminal record and demonstrated history of ethical conduct required.
• Fingerprinting:
  • Applicants must undergo fingerprinting as part of the hiring process.
