Klickitat County is Hiring a Crisis Case Manager Near Goldendale, WA

Under the clinical supervision of the Behavioral Health Manager the Crisis Case Manager provides Behavioral Health services in both the community, county jail, schools, residents homes, hospital settings and other areas as needed. The Crisis Case Manager works as a member of the crisis team, collaborating with agency professionals through case planning and service coordination.
This position is a valued member of the team who works with individuals, families and community partners to meet client needs such as stable housing, access to health care, substance abuse treatment, stable transportation and emphasizes crisis stabilization, resilience and recovery. This position works independently as well as collaboratively, uses sound judgment, conforms to adopted policies and procedures, solves problems and achieves results consistent with expected goals and objectives.
  • Works with the Behavioral Health Manager in the implementation of departmental programs and procedures to accomplish local, state and federal Behavioral Health Department goals and policies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in case conferences, sharing insights and recommendations for clients' well-being.
  • Stay up-to-date with crisis intervention techniques, mental health policies, and community resources to provide the most effective support to clients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' crisis situations, including mental health status, safety risks, and immediate needs.
  • Provides follow up service after a crisis intervention.
  • Provides crisis supportive counseling to clients, utilizing active listening and empathy to build trust
  • Utilizes agency electronic behavioral health record to navigate clients’ digital charts as necessary and required. Maintain detailed and accurate case documentation, including screenings, progress notes, and crisis intervention plans.
  • Ensure that client records and other documentation are up-to-date and justify the case management services.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and access to services, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard within the community.
  • Stay up-to-date with crisis intervention techniques, mental health policies, and community resources to provide the most effective support to clients.
  • Represent the principles of the county and uphold the values of the department.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress throughout the crisis intervention process, adjusting safety plans and follow up services as necessary.
  • Coordinate and connect clients with community resources, such as mental health agencies, housing assistance, healthcare services, and financial support.
  • Provides coordination between behavioral health integrated programs, strategic community partners, public health and team clinicians/crisis providers.
Required Crisis Case Manager Skills
  • Provides backup professional services within the established scope of practice, for any of the services provided by the Behavioral Health Department.
  • Strong crisis management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other professionals, agencies, and community resources to meet clients' needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and mental health practices, including de-escalation strategies and safety planning.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services available for individuals in crisis.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Google platform and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to pivot and perform other related duties as assigned.
