Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be primarily responsible for accounts receivable payment processing, applying payments to customer accounts, researching deductions, issuing credit memos, publishing the weekly Aged AR report, following up on past due invoices, analyzing the rebates and promos accrual and processing the payments to customers.

• Assist Controller in accounting functions as needed.
• The main focus will be in Accounts Receivable but must possess a willingness to grow within the company to potentially take on more responsibility.
• Follow up, collect, and allocate payments.
• Carry out collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Generate AR aging analysis.
• Review AR aging to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
• Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries.
• Work with sales and customers to ensure compliance with payment terms.
• Communicate with customers regularly via phone or electronically.
• Work across departments to bring resolution to billing issues.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting or related discipline preferred, or equivalent work history.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable accounting practices.
• Knowledge of office administration and procedures.
• Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficient in relevant computer software.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Efficient organizational skills.
• Proficiency with information management.
• Problem analysis and problem solving skills.
• Ability to be an effective team member.
• Performing duties with a sense of urgency.
• Possess the tenacity to bring closure to outstanding issues.
