Klondike Kennels, a full-service boarding and daycare facility, is hiring for the position of Kennel Receptionist. As a Kennel Receptionist, you are part of a larger team focused on our guests' daily pet care. As a Kennel Receptionist, you will handle various tasks from walking dogs, feeding, administering medications, cleaning kennels, answering the phone, checking clients in/out, trimming dog's nails, and loving the animals as if they were your own. This position will also be a hybrid role, including training to be a daycare monitor.

Duties Include:

• Speaking to guests to update them about their pet's stay or concerns
• Preparing paperwork for pets with upcoming boarding stays
• Training team members
• Know and enforce all cleaning, safety, and dog-handling procedures
• Must be flexible, able to fill in, and train all positions
• Working closely with the general manager and management team to always ensure excellent care and customer service.
• Administering and recording medications
• Being alert to any potential concerns with dogs in your care.
• Supervising staff and delegating tasks
• Monitoring dogs in our group play programs
• Keeping records of interactions that occur during daycare between dogs

Successful candidates should possess prior leadership experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be highly motivated and organized. Computer skills and basic office equipment operations are required. Pet Care Assistant Managers are responsible for giving medications, doing nail trims, and handling fearful or stressed pets.

Kennel Receptionist Requirements:

• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and cats
• Enjoy working with both people and pets
• Have the stamina to walk large, energetic dogs as well as ensure our kennel looks inviting and clean
• Flexible work schedule where you can work during the week, as well as the weekend and major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s )
• Ability to follow directions and comply with processes and procedures
• Must have a keen sense of observation when caring for the pets
• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks; lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, etc.
• Must be able to work around different breeds of dogs and cats
