JobDescription :

• Thisposition ensures that the more complex accounts are accuratelyinvoiced reconciled and outstanding payments are collected so thatthe core system is correct and the client is satisfied.
• In accomplishing its accountabilities the position mustinteract and coordinate with accounts subscribers finance systemsand other internal CareFirst departments as well externalparties.
• This position is responsible forserving as point of contact for internal and external customersregarding all complex billing and collection issues.
• The associate will assist in the clarification anddevelopment of process improvements and inquiries assure paymentsrelated to services from all sources are recorded and reconciledtimely in order to maximize revenues.
• Theincumbent may be required to assist with projects for uppermanagement by providing analytical and reporting support for suchpurposes as : operational efficiency / quality metrics andproductivity analysis endofmonth accounts receivablesreconciliation and monthly account aging reports.

Qualifications :

• Education Level : High School Diploma orGED
• 3 years experience in a Billing membershipenrollment member services claims operations or Financerole
• Proficient in Microsoft Officeapplications. Advanced
• Provide excellentcustomer service with a focus on department goals.Advanced
• Works well in environment with firmdeadlines; results oriented. Advanced

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS :

• 25%Researches and responds by telephone or in writing to complexpatient inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.
• 25% Reviews billing forms for accuracy and completenessbefore sending to payors.
• 20% Assists in thepreparation of monthly billing and accounts receivablereports.
• 15% Assists with complex billingissues including contacting insurance carriers to confirm patienteligibility and referral information.
• 10%Ensures all insurance demographic and eligibility information isobtained from patients and entered into the system in an accurateand timely manner.
• 5% Adhere to HIPAAguidelines and other relevant state and federal regulations andcompany policies regarding to compliance integrity patient privacyand ethical billing practices.
