Position Summary / Objective KMS Solutions is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a team of engineers and technicians providing engineering and technical support to the Ranges, Engineering, and Analysis Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. This multi-disciplinary team is responsible for providing systems safety, environmental qualification testing, and range sustainment in support of undersea warfare systems. Candidates with education and experience in engineering fields are highly desired. Essential Functions * Support Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) including Shock, Vibration, Temperature, Humidity, Inclination, Pressure, Airborne and Structure borne noise, and Enclosure
* Evaluate EQT system requirements
* Lead test conduct, planning, instrumentation, data capture
* Provide acoustic, vibration and shock data processing and analysis
* Review and develop test documentation including plans, procedures, and reports Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
* Two (2) years of experience generating supporting test and integration
* Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to all levels of the customer organization Preferred Education and Experience: * Master's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
* Experience specifically with undersea warfare systems and/or Navy training range systems
* Specific experience with NUWC Division Newport Competencies: * Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate written and verbally to all levels of customers and company leadership.
* Capable of effectively working and problem-solving in both independent and team environments.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status. Telework: This position allows for up to 20% telework each week after the first six months of employment. Travel: Up to 10% travel may be required.
