JOB TITLE: Optics Engineering Technician (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Optics
REPORTS TO: Optics Engineering and Product Manager
SPECIAL TRAINING NEEDED:
This position requires an individual with excellent verbal communication, highly proficient writing skills, meticulous accuracy to details, and the ability to work well with a number of departments.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
This position will perform duties such as researching, analyzing, and documenting processes and procedures in a required report format to ensure the Company is operating in the most efficient and effective manner. Assist in maintaining the MRP/ERP system with current and correct informational data.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Background in manufacturing process determination.
- Perform costings, and build routings (manufacturing process controls) using MRP/ERP (SAGE / MAS 500) software.
- Knowledge of materials, cutting tools, processes, and machining a plus.
- Working knowledge of bills of material (BOM) required.
- Good knowledge of configuration management methods
- Experience in developing and maintaining a record-keeping system; proofreading records to verify accuracy.
- Working knowledge of CAD Design (SolidWorks and SolidEdge) a plus.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
- Write departmental work instructions, procedures, and forms for ISO conformance. Perform audits of processes and recommend practical and tangible improvements to improve quality and reduce both time and scrap. Follow processes through a complete cycle and document the entire procedure in detail.
- Perform costings and build routings using MRP/ERP (SAGE / MAS 500) software.
- Assist in the creation and release of drawings pertaining to Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Initial releases (EIRs), moreover, printing and delivering engineering drawings to approved department and personnel as required.
- May assist internal customers with preparation of paperwork, reports or printing needs.
- Interact with Manufacturing, Engineering and Production/Material Control personnel to monitor, document, and analyze all work orders as they are being processed throughout the facility for quality and accuracy.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with established standards and user needs. Complies with all property/departmental standards as they pertain to safety and security.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain confidentiality of Knight Enterprises Management, LLC designs, procedures and processes.
