Senior Analyst – International TradeAbout The RoleThe International Trade Sr. Analyst will be an experienced and motivated Trade Compliance associate who will ensure that the subject KnitWell Group brands (Ann Taylor, LOFT, Talbots and Lane Bryant) conform to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations governing international trade. The candidate should be familiar with the Entry Process, Classification, Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreements, Valuation, Customs Broker, Trademark, and other subjects pertinent to importer or exporter responsibilities. The Sr. Analyst will provide technical and analytical support to the International Trade team with an eye towards compliance and sensitivity to tight timeframes. This position reports to Senior Manager, International Trade.
The impact you can have
  • Determine the proper tariff classification of wearing apparel, accessories, and footwear, per the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS). Ability to analyze and interpret the HTS, and research government publications to determine the accurate classification and the financial impact of duty rates on products. Interface with related functional areas (designers, tech design, merchants, vendors, Buying Agents, etc.) for product details to classify according to Customs definitions and within defined timelines. Compose and submit Binding Ruling requests to CBP, as necessary.
  • CBP Reconciliation Program: Provide analytical support, and work with Customs Broker for reporting value adjustments, foreign design costs, etc.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of International Trade training workshops for Brand associates on various trade topics.
  • Conduct First Sale audits to review documents and resolve any issues found according to the audit schedule. Issue Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to vendors to improve their programs and support KnitWell due diligence.
  • Conduct Post Entry (7501) Audits based on an entry sampling to review documents, and coordinate with vendor, the Trade team, and broker to resolve any issues found.
  • Update annual CTPAT Risk Assessment/Matrix: collect data and revise content (countries/ports/formulas) driving toward deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting of first sale duty savings and statistics, to support the $8M duty savings program.
  • Ensure brokerage data accuracy and work with Broker to fix data or entry issues.
  • Assist International Trade Management on special projects involving data analysis, customs compliance, and other trade-adjacent matters as needed.
You’ll bring to the role
  • Bachelor’s Degree, and/or at least 5 years’ experience in Customs Compliance/Import/Export Operations/Accounting/Finance/Legal.
  • Proficiency in Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) classification. Focus on apparel, accessories, and footwear a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced level skillset in Excel.
  • Excellent time and organizational/project management skills to maintain timelines.
  • Experience creating partnerships with various cross-functional partners, both internal and external
  • Ability to professionally communicate (oral and written skills) with management, internal, and external customers. Attention to detail.
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office programs—specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Customs Broker License and non-English languages desirable

  • The target salary range for this role is: $75,000 – $82,000
  • Any job offer will consider factors such your qualifications, relevant experience, and skills. Eligibility of certain benefits and associate programs are subject to employment type and role.
This position works remotely. Occasional travel to a company office may be required.
