Position Summary:

Responsible for communicating with the server and chef team to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds each guest’s expectations. Ensure that soups and salads are prepared properly and in a timely manner. May perform tableside service and refill drinks. Observes each guest to ensure they are satisfied with the food, beverage and service, and responds to additional requests. Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and organized workplace.

** Listed Salary Info is our current average hourly pay rate, which includes Kobe base pay for Busser ($11-$14 per hour) plus shared Service Charge/Tip.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Completes daily and weekly side work requirements prior, during and after shifts
• Greets guests and informs them of specials, menu changes; makes suggestions and answers questions regarding food, beverage, service and overall concept
• Communicates with front, servers, kitchen, server assistant, bartender and management to coordinate entire station ensuring guest satisfaction with food and service
• Serves items from kitchen, sushi bar and bar promptly and efficiently
• Observes to ensure that guests are satisfied with the food and service and responds to any additional requests
• Assists server in making sure that tables are well maintained such as drinks refilled and dirty plate ware, glassware and utensils are removed in a timely manner
• Assists fellow employees when time permits
• Clean and reset vacated tables
• Maintains service areas cleaned and organized prior, during and after shifts
• Continuously standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying and twisting and use of hands and arms
• Obtain approved food handling training and state alcohol training required by local laws within 30 days of hire

• Availability on Weekends and Holidays preferred
• Outgoing person acting as an ambassador of company values, mission, image to the public at all times
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Efficient communication and customer service skills
• Organized
• Ability to multi-task and show flexibility during high volume periods.
• Previous restaurant experience is preferred
• Follows all federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations outlined by the Kobe Employee Handbook Skills and Abilities
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 60 pounds.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol minimum 18 years old.

Our story began in 1984 when Doi Tan Nguyen, along with his son Chau left Montreal, Canada. They came to Altamonte Springs and launched Kobé, Florida’s Premier Japanese Steakhouse. Nguyen had big ideas for his restaurant concept in the Orlando market. He wanted to deliver a unique dining experience that would offer an exciting and vibrant environment for guests to gather and celebrate over delicious food and drinks.
In 1996, with the passing of his father and joined by his sister and uncle, Chau Nguyen took over the company and remains the principal owner of the Florida native brand.
Over the years, Kobé has grown to become a big family business that includes his children, nieces and numerous dedicated employees that have been with the company through the decades.
