Your JobThe Wood Products Logistics team within Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team in
Atlanta, GA.This role will provide support to the broader Wood Products business. As a Logistics Specialist, you will have a variety of responsibilities & partner with multiple capabilities. You will also participate in many Logistics projects from cost savings & service improvements to new technologies.
Our TeamThe Wood Products Logistics team manages truck, rail, and warehouse activities for outbound finished goods and material transfers between manufacturing sites. This includes setting long-term strategic priorities through daily execution tasks. The team works daily with Sales, S&OP, Procurement, IT, manufacturing sites, & outside vendors - primarily trucking companies and railroads.
What You Will Do- Prioritize shipments, customers and manufacturing sites based on inventory levels / needs
- Work with internal capabilities to recoup funds from freight damage
- Monitor Proof of Delivery submittals from carriers
- Work with S&OP's production outlook to create shipping forecasts that will help drive strategies
- Monitor service levels and take corrective actions as necessary
- Provide insight to help drive value-creation opportunities
- Assist in testing new systems/ processes to ensure smooth implementations
- Collaborate with the Wood Products business through a hybrid work schedule (3 in 2 remote)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience presenting reports, proposals, plans, etc. in written or verbal communication
- Microsoft Excel experience (Creating and modifying spreadsheets by using filters, formulas, and graphs to analyze/manipulate data)
What Will Put You Ahead- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, finance, or accounting
- 2 years related work experience in supply chain, finance, or accounting
- Experience with business analysis and data visualization tools (i.e., PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, etc.)
- Previous experience using SAP S4 and IBP, and/or other supply chain technology tools
- Experience in a manufacturing/operations production facility environment
