Supply Chain Manager Basic Function

The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership to the plant-level Master Scheduling organization. This role will align the plant level Master Scheduling organization functions with the output of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, New Product Development (NPD) process, and the Purchasing functions to ensure a consistent, reliable flow of Raw and WIP inventory to support a fixed period finished goods production schedule. This Supply Chain Manager will manage and execute the Master Schedule, new product introductions and supplier requirement communications with plant level material managers.

Supply Chain Manager Specific Responsibilities

·Responsible for implementing a frozen period Master Production Schedule for all Power Systems Wisconsin manufacturing that effectively executes the defined production plan.

·Develop monthly capacity plans to support finished goods shipping plans at the unit level for each plant.

·Provide expertise in the development of short- and long-term production plans that recognize changes in the output of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, production capacity, flexibility limitations, financial considerations, materials availability and customer service levels.

·Develop goals and objectives for the Master Schedulers that are quantifiable and measurable.

·Drive accountability for standards of performance, systems and procedures.

·Meet agreed to customer service levels (LOTIF %)

·Responsible for capacity planning initiatives through education and guidance provided to plant level materials managers.

·Develop and utilize Kinaxis software to aid in Master Scheduling and Capacity Planning

·Identify critical positions within the Master Scheduling function and establish strategies to develop a strong talent pipeline within the function.

·Develop or identify appropriate training for plant level personnel and other departments, as required, on system changes, strategic initiatives, and day to day functions.

·Create, implement and control processes designed to ensure standardized consistent communications between Master Scheduling, the NPD Platform Teams, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, and Manufacturing to ensure all release for shipment requirements are met and include minimum inventory builds within the supply chain prior to product release.

·Create the Production Schedule for Changzhou-produced engines, alternators, harnesses and other components

·Coordinate communication of Master Production schedules to individual plants and assist in driving requirements to the supply base.Responsible for plant / supplier input in all production planning meetings.

·Develop and execute oversight for the communication of significant demand increases or decreases to ensure supply base responsiveness.Create agile reaction plans, in partnership with purchasing, when demand outstrips supply.

·Keep abreast of trends and practices within the Materials Management function through exchange of information with corporate Technical Services, Power Systems Group, professional and trade associations, as well as other companies.

Skills/Requirements

Supply Chain Manager Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Business Administration or Engineering with a concentration in Supply Chain, Production or Operations management.
  • 5 years’ experience in plant level scheduling/materials management.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems required
  • Strong Microsoft Suite experience required
  • Strong leadership competencies and negotiation skills required.
  • MBA and continuing education in the field of material control, purchasing or automated systems is desirable.
  • CCCPIM Certification desirable

The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $137,150. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
