Job DescriptionKokosing, Inc. is currently seeking a Controller for its subsidiary McGraw/Kokosing. This position is responsible for reporting on the company’s financial results and to ensure financial information is accurate and in compliance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA license preferred

Experience

• Previous public accounting experience preferred
• Construction accounting experience preferred
• Prior management experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the accounting team that is responsible for payroll, accounts payable and job billings
• Manage the month-end close process for the business unit
• Prepare and maintain specified balance sheet reconciliation schedules to ensure compliance with GAAP
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the month-end close process
• Preparation of the monthly WIP schedule
• Preparation of the monthly financial statement packages, including various management reports
• Work with operations to ensure accurate reporting of job cost and billing information
• Assist with the annual external audit by preparing necessary workpapers and other requests as needed
• Assist with preparation of year-end income tax schedules for external tax preparers
• Support the business development team by providing requested prequalification information as needed
