KPSJob ID 2475052Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Physical Security Specialist with a Top-Secret Clearance to support KPS and our government customer in College Park, MD.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Shall have the ability to deal effectively with others and possess a willingness to nurture an overall level of confidence and cooperation within the agency.
  • Shall possess oral and written communications skills consistent with the level of security assignments to conduct interviews, security briefings, discuss analysis and opinion in a concise, logical, and objective manner, and prepare written communications settings forth analyses and recommendations.
  • Shall have the ability to analyze various types of materials, including investigative reports, to develop information regarding security vulnerabilities as it would apply to approval or denial of facility or information system access granted by senior security management.
  • Shall have the knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out assignments and developing skills by performing limited independent work.
  • Shall have the knowledge of administrative regulations and sanctions that apply to violations or non-compliance with security regulations.
  • Shall have the ability to develop interrelationships between various subject matter areas of the Security Program to determine if additional security concerns have developed or the scope of the investigation should be expanded.
  • Shall provide superior customer service, to include the tasks below:
  • Physical security inspections, surveys, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Technical authority for implementing physical security measures.
  • Documents for accreditation and operation of areas, assist with planning, development, and implementation of Emergency Management Plans.
  • Operating and implementing a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.
  • Review floor plans and diagrams for compliance with the Government.
  • Assist with writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Plans.
  • Assist with the coordination with alarm and access control installation.
  • Shall have proficient working knowledge of IDC-705.
  • Shall demonstrate working knowledge of SCIF construction, including mechanical and electrical, and general building construction.
  • Shall possess the ability to conduct and develop comprehensive risk profiles.
  • Shall possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as strong time management skills.
  • Top Secret clearance
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Four years of experience over the minimum experience requirement can compensate for educational requirements)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
Working Environment & ConditionsThis job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
