This hard-working team is seeking an HR Generalist.

About the Role: The Human Resources Generalist has knowledge of human resource practices including employee relations, benefits management, and federal, state and local laws and regulations. The ideal candidate should exemplify fantastic communication skills and the ability to garner consensus from a large team and obtain stakeholder buy-in on new, complex, or challenging ideas.

Pay: $33.00- $35.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm (Onsite)

Status: Contract (6 months)

Location: La Palma, CA

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide guidance to management and employees on human resources issues and employment law
  • Assure company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout the area of responsibility
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel
  • Participate and assist with job fairs and other hiring events as required
  • Perform employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding personnel and job related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, review and assessment of termination requests; conduct exit interviews
  • Process and communicate insurance claims including but not limited to Auto, Workers Compensation, Property/General Liability.
  • Coordinate the administration of all Leave of Absence programs and processes including transitional work and accommodations
  • Conduct employee and supervisor training including benefits, policies and procedures and prevention of harassment and discrimination
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database
  • Perform audit and compliance functions as requested on items such as audit reports verification, commission reports and payroll information
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • New Hire processing and onboarding
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Administers and monitors the annual performance evaluation program
  • Administers and maintains the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training and anti-harassment training
  • Maintains Timekeeping records/systems
  • Time and Attendance Tracking and Reporting.
  • Meal/Rest Break reporting
  • Assist with administering and planning company events including employee recognition programs
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as necessary.
  • Other HR related projects and/or duties as assigned

Your strengths and experience may include:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Human Resources Certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to use MS Office programs and HR related software. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Manufacturing experience is a must.
  • LEAN experience, specifically Danaher Business Systems or Toyota Production Systems, highly desired but not required.
