The Parts Department team is primarily responsible for the assembly, refurbishment, inspection, and/or repair of both new and used precision mechanical components and assemblies commonly used in Koops produced machines, such as expander heads, weld cartridges, etc.
The Parts Department Technician performs a series of specified hands-on machining, assembly, inspection, rework, cleaning, and tuning tasks to a variety of specialized mechanical components and assemblies. Responsibilities include the disassembly, assembly, fabrication, and/or measurement of various components using hand tools, power tools, basic shop equipment, and utilizing the safe operation of other mechanized shop floor equipment, such as forklifts or overhead cranes. This position is first shift.
The ideal candidate has:

• Cognitive and motor skills
• Strong sense of urgency and ownership of tasks until completed
• Proficiency in use of basic hand tools and measuring equipment, common shop equipment, and mechanical processes (eg, drilling, tapping, grinding, lapping, polishing, etc.) is required
• Attention to detail, ability to read drawings, and focus on completing assigned tasks are essential
• Effective communication skills and the ability to present information to team members, customers, and suppliers
• An Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is desired, or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Computer literacy (including Microsoft office)
