Korean American Family Services (KFAM) is Hiring a Korean Speaking Gender Based Violence Victim Advocate Near Los Angeles, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION: Korean American Family Services (KFAM) is a non-profit organization specializing in gender-based violence, mental health, and social services to Korean immigrant families. KFAM is seeking a Korean speaking victim advocate to work under the supervision of the Gender-based Violence (GBV) Program Director and GBV Direct Service Supervisor. The victim advocate is responsible for providing direct services for survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking in the community.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Direct Services:
  • Provide case management to victims.
  • Provide intake and assessment of needs, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
  • Advocate on behalf of victims and/or their children with government agencies, courts, schools, and other service providers.
  • Linkage and referrals to other agencies such as emergency shelters, legal aids, workforce development, etc.
  • Participate in rotation for handling after-hours DV hotline calls.
  • Work with GBV direct service supervisor to develop treatment plan and deliver appropriate direct services.
  • Provide services around economic stability by coordinating vocational training, resume building, etc.
  • Facilitate culturally responsive survivor support group.
Program Development and Outreach:
  • Work with supervisor to develop case management plans, service models, and protocols.
  • Assist with outreach events, represent agency at meetings/conferences, and network with other service providers, as needed.
  • Work with GBV, outreach and administrative staff to carry out public awareness campaigns, education, and trainings.
  • Assist with updating community resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, a plus.
  • Must speak Korean fluently. Korean reading and writing, a plus.
  • Experience working in DV field or with other victims of crime, a strong plus.
  • Experience in housing or workforce development, a plus.
  • Experience working with Korean immigrant populations, especially women, a plus.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Well-organized, self-directed, highly-motivated, and hard-working.
  • Must have driver’s license, insurance and be willing to drive, as needed.
