Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities for our growing portfolio of real estate assets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our company and advance your career in the real estate and Private Equity industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general ledger accounting process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and REIT regulations.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process for assigned properties or portfolios.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Coordinate with external auditors to support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of investor communications, including quarterly earnings releases and investor presentations.
- Collaborate with other departments, including asset management and property management, to support strategic decision-making and optimize financial performance.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations relevant to the real estate industry and implement necessary updates and changes to accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- 2-6 years of progressive accounting experience. Ideally beginning in Public Accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
