Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for Vice President of Property Management.

Leading residential affordable housing company based in Miami, FL, committed to providing quality, affordable housing to the Miami community is looking for a key member to join the team. As they continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Property Management to join the team. This role will be instrumental in building and growing our property management department, implementing Yardi software, and developing the procedures and infrastructure necessary for our continued success.

Position Summary: The Vice President of Property Management will oversee all aspects of our property management operations, with a focus on implementing Yardi software across the department. This role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in property management, particularly in affordable housing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize property performance, build out departmental procedures and infrastructure, and lead a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Yardi Implementation:

  • Lead the implementation of Yardi software on the property management side of the business.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Yardi implementation plan.
  • Train and support staff on Yardi usage and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Monitor and optimize the use of Yardi to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.

2.Departmental Development:

  • Build out the property management department, including developing procedures, policies, and best practices.
  • Establish infrastructure to support scalable growth and operational excellence.
  • Design and implement performance metrics and reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

3.Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing property management team.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed.

4.Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day property management operations to ensure high levels of resident satisfaction and property performance.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial reports, and operational plans.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Address and resolve escalated resident issues and complaints.

5.Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for the property management department.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance property value and resident experience.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in property management, with a focus on affordable housing.
  • Proven track record of implementing Yardi software and optimizing its use.
  • Strong experience in building out departmental procedures and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Deep understanding of affordable housing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Yardi software and Microsoft Office Suite.
