• Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain and update accurate financial records, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other financial transactions.
• Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy and detect discrepancies.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, with a strong understanding of 280E and 471C regulations, as well as other relevant tax codes.
• Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports and statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring that costs are properly allocated and documented for tax and regulatory purposes.
• Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory records, including product cost accounting and inventory valuation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO to support budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic financial planning.
• External Accounting Firm Interaction: Collaborate with our external accounting firm to provide necessary information, respond to inquiries, and assist in the annual audit process.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with cannabis industry regulations and ensure the company remains in compliance with all state and federal requirements.
• Training: Willingness to learn and adapt to the unique requirements of cannabis accounting, including keeping up with changes in regulations and tax codes.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a related industry or in-depth knowledge of complex accounting regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn about 280E, 471C, and other cannabis industry-specific accounting regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High level of integrity and ethical responsibility.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus but not required.
