The Role:

Our client is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer who applies electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering principles to components, subsystems and systems, including assembly, analysis, testing and documentation; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.

 

Responsibilities

Assisting failure analysis

Modifying specifications

Creating compliance matrices

Test plans and test reports

Assisting with the generation of manufacturing instructions and inspection plans fabrication and testing of hardware to verify the design meets the customer's expectations

Participation in and preparation of materials for internal design reviews is also expected as is assisting with the procurement of components for development and troubleshooting / repairing circuits.

CAE tools and laboratory equipment will be utilized to perform these tasks. 

A basic understanding and wide application of technical principles and theories is required.

Capable of contributing to an engineering team to perform development tasks for the development of ruggedized electronics to be used on missiles and rockets.

May present designs to internal customers for review and address technical issues.

A solid understanding of circuit theory, components and troubleshooting skills is required.

 

Analysis

Conduct failure analysis

Perform analysis of products to show compliance to derating guidelines and manufacturers' specifications.

Various CAD/CAE tools utilized.

 

Computer Skills

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform basic engineering tasks.

 

Design

Investigate and test vendors' components, perform design selection.

Modify existing designs for new applications.

Create documentation of design / product - drawings, specifications, compliance matrices, test plans and test reports.

Assist with generation of work instructions and incentive plans.

Basic understanding of GD&T (geometric design and tolerencing).

Participate in and prepare materials for internal design reviews (IDR).

Understand configuration management as it applies to product documentation.

Create design verifications.

Lead program team.

Understanding of electro-magnetic design and the design and testing of leads.

 

Hands-On

Procure parts for development.

Assist with the fabrication and test of prototype hardware.

Perform and/or oversee design verification tests IAW plan/instructions.

Solder or machine tool trained per current requirements or equivalent skill.

Troubleshoot / repair circuits or mechanical structures

Requirements

BSEE / MSEE with 5-8 years of previous relevant experience, 3-6 years' experience with MS.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and various CAD/CAE tools is required.

The individual will have a history of setting high goals and standards for self, others, and the organization, be dissatisfied with average performance and assume full responsibility for results.

The individual will be a self-starter, identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities, effectively manage one's time and resources, be a team player, and possess strong communication and written skills.
