Job Description

KPMG Origins invites professionals from consulting or business development backgrounds to join our innovative supply chain technology venture as a Business Development Senior Consultant/Manager.

We aim to help global businesses meet the increasingly complex supply chain data requirements of governments and consumers. Located in Sydney, this position offers a unique blend of a dynamic startup atmosphere backed by KPMG, providing great opportunity for professional growth and impact.

KPMG Origins focuses across a wide range of sectors including:

  • Waste and resource recovery

As a Senior Consultant / Manager – Business Development, you will be required to develop knowledge in a range of industries and their supply chains to offer our tailored solutions.

  • Business Development: Proactively research and identify potential clients in targeted sectors. Engage with prospects through strategic outreach, organise product demonstrations, and effectively communicate the unique value proposition of our solution.
  • Sales and Pipeline Management: Work with the growth and product teams to pursue opportunities that you have identified and effectively manage your pipeline. Utilise multiple channels for pipeline development, including networking, referrals, and digital outreach, to drive business opportunities through to successful contract closure.
  • Proposals and Contracting: Create tailored client proposals, including tender responses, that clearly state a compelling value proposition based on the client’s needs and evolve the proposal based on client feedback. Once agreed, collaborate with the client to formalise the engagement in a contract.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline sales processes, enhancing efficiency within the team and making your life easier! Your insights will contribute to refining our sales approach, ensuring alignment with KPMG Origins' strategic objectives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between the sales, customer success and product teams, ensuring a smooth transition of clients from sales prospects to active users. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our solutions meet the evolving needs of our clients, delivering tangible value and fostering long-term partnerships.

  • Experienced Professional: With a background in consulting or business development, you bring a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in identifying opportunities, negotiating, and closing deals, or in proposal development and delivering on complex projects.
  • Lateral Thinker: You can see the big picture and connect changes in international trends to strategic goals. You're adept at navigating complex sales cycles and crafting strategies that align with broader business objectives.
  • Effective Communicator: Your communication skills are top-notch, enabling you to distil complex concepts into clear, persuasive narratives both in written and spoken language.
  • Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments, contributing to and drawing from the collective intelligence of the team. Your ability to work cross-functionally ensures that sales strategies are seamlessly integrated with product development and client success efforts.
