Summary:
KPMG is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join Ignition Tax Product, KPMG’s software engineering group responsible for building tools that enable teams of global accountants to perform complex tax and financial services for some of the world’s largest companies.
As a member of the UI/UX Design team, the UI/UX Designer works within a product team to translate business requirements into a prototype that becomes the blueprint for development teams. In this role, the UI/UX Designer is focused on understanding the business problem, interfacing with stakeholders, conducting a variety of UX activities that drive informed design decisions, which result in mockups that depict the desired experience in the form of a clickable prototype.
Our ideal UI/UX Designer is a cross-functional designer who can dig deep into analysis and transpose findings into carefully crafted interface mockups and prototypes. They must possess the ability to drive requirements across many user types and create an experience that caters to user needs. The UI/UX Designer pays close attention to UI design best practices, interaction, accessibility, and adherence to the Tax Design System. We look for highly communicative team players who will advocate for the user within project teams to build meaningful user experiences.
What you’ll be doing:
Champion User Experience Design and User Interface Design for designated projects, ensuring a seamless user journey
Advocate for User Experience/User Interface design, effectively communicating the vision to project teams
Lead stakeholder/user interviews to delve into business issues and requirements, facilitating whiteboarding sessions to stimulate creative brainstorming
Execute user interviews, craft personas, journey maps, site maps and information architecture diagrams to provide a comprehensive understanding of user behavior
Develop user flows, task analysis matrices, wireframes, high-resolution mockups, and prototypes to vividly illustrate product vision
Manage design feedback sessions and user testing to ensure the product meets user expectations and needs
Strictly adhere to Tax Design System standards, applying them appropriately to mockups for consistency and coherence
Collaborate closely with UI Developer to ensure the product build is accurate, user-friendly, accessible, and aligns with the initial vision
Seek to integrate AI into the UX/UI workflow
Required SKills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in crafting intuitive, engaging, and visually captivating websites or applications that prioritize user ease
Possesses robust interpersonal skills with a knack for articulating design direction and vision effectively
Exhibits a profound understanding of accessibility best practices, ensuring inclusivity in design
Highly adept at using Figma, FigJam, Mural, Miro, and Office 365, showcasing technical proficiency
High-level understanding of backend development languages, bridging the gap between design and development
Required to present an online portfolio that showcases a selection of representative work samples, reflecting design prowess and creativity
Education:
