About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, provide technical solutions, and ensure the stability and scalability of our mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.
• System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, debugging, and optimization of existing mainframe applications to ensure peak performance.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and other team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• System Integration: Integrate mainframe applications with other systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all developed applications and processes.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize mainframe applications for performance, ensuring that they meet or exceed performance benchmarks.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to mainframe applications and systems.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe development and suggest improvements to current processes and systems.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and other mainframe technologies.
• Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with batch processing and online transaction processing (OLTP).
• Knowledge of system integration and data migration processes.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of DevOps practices in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with modernization and migration of legacy mainframe systems.
