Job Description:


General Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager directs the company's purchasing, receiving, equipment disposal and inventory services. Fosters a culture of accountability, while developing employees growth and contribution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and reports progress on strategy, tactics and plans to ensure timely supply of materials and services of the highest value in support of the operating plan
  • Leads the development and management of the supply chain organization, including purchasing and supplier management
  • Develops and implements new or improved supply chain processes and strategies
  • Negotiates, implements and maintains strategic supply agreements as required including non-disclosure, joint development, intellectual property and other agreements to ensure effective relationships with a base of critical and key supplier partners
  • Develops strategic long term contracts with key suppliers
  • Implements and manages long-term agreements, sub-contracts, supplier performance metrics, and supplier relations
  • Represents the company in negotiating sub-contracts and formulating policies with suppliers to support strategic business objectives
  • Builds effective working relationships at the appropriate levels with external and internal organizations and suppliers
  • Reviews large requisitions and annual contracts for comformance to company standards, makes recommendations and revisions accordingly
  • Approves purchases, reviews contracts, and signs agreements
  • Oversight and management of all Government furnished property/equipment.

Experience and Skills:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of GFE and GPE procedures
  • Experience with quality auditing standards and procedures including AS9100 and ISO 9001
  • Experience in Inventory Management
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency and training in Supply Chain Management, contract law, FAR/DFAR, and CAS
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
  • Knowledge and experience implementing long term agreements and sub-contract agreements
  • Domestic and international experience
  • Proven strong team leadership and 5 years of demonstrated management experience
  • Proven strategic thinking and planning skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Understanding of government regulations that impact the strategic and tactical operations of the purchasing/supplier management organization
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Aerospace and/or defense industry experience a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primarily office environment: desk, telephone/headset, keyboard/mousing/writing and one-on-one interface with department personnel.
  • Routine sitting and use of computer/telephone/copier equipment, some walking and reaching, active listening and thinking.
  • Ability to think analytically and produce accurate analysis and use good judgment to conduct assigned responsibilities accurately and effectively.
  • May work extended hours or weekends
  • Moderate travel both domestic and international.
  • Office and manufacturing environment with potential exposure to uncontrolled climate conditions and potential exposure to noise, dust and hazardous chemicals.
  • Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time, (9) hours minimum
  • Must be able to physically handle items weighing up to 40 pounds, (unassisted)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-5% - May be required between Kratos locations or vendor suppliers
