About The Function:

Our client is a family owned business and one of the Nations largest distributors of fresh and frozen food. They are located in South Philadelphia and are seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead the Human Resources department. This is a high impact role in a dynamic privately owned organization during a period of growth and transformation throughout its multiple locations. The successful candidate will be a true strategic partner who is equally comfortable interfacing with employees working through their distributions centers and participating in meetings with executive leadership. This role requires focus on designing and delivering initiatives that support the organizations strategic goals. We are seeking a dynamic individual with strong communications skills and a proven record of success.

Summary of essential job functions:

  1. Complement, support and further the companys goals through performance aligned with company values.
  2. Create and implement employee programs to drive retention, engagement, and workforce planning.
  3. Coach and advise internal clients to advance talent management initiatives.
  4. Manage Human Resources Operations activities to ensure compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Manage, grow and elevate the HR team to include the development of successful recruitment strategies, benefits administration, personnel policies and procedures, payroll, handbook updates, HRIS systems, employee relations functions.
  5. Lead learning and development strategy to ensure a workforce with the capabilities, skills and competencies needed to meet business and succession objectives. (Union and Non-Union environments)
  6. Implement and manage workforce systems that drive desired performance behavior and employee development.
  7. Assist in ensuring jobs are accurately paid to market through credible benchmarking, analysis, and market monitoring.
  8. Champion change and leverage change management tools to support business plans.
  9. Create strategies to attract and retain talent, improve performance, and maintain a motivated work environment.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in human resources, business management or a related discipline required. SHRM, HRCI, related professional credentials are a bonus.
  2. 7-10 years' progressive experience in HR management with demonstrated expertise in at least one key strategic HR discipline: Training & Development. Workforce & Organizational Planning, Data Analytics, Lean Management (Systems Efficiency & Process Improvement).
  3. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; analysis and modeling expertise. Experience using a an HRIS/ERP solution; familiarity with market pricing tools (ERI, Marketpay, Payfactors, etc.;) strong data orientation, demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Broad knowledge of applicable labor and employment laws and compliance best practices, including the administration of effective employee policies and procedures.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  6. Experience with organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, succession, talent development, and compensation and benefits.
  7. Experience in Food Distribution, Manufacturing, or Retail environments.
  8. Experience in Union Environments.
  9. Only Local Candidates, willing to work on-site full time, and legally eligible to work in the US without Sponsorship will be considered
