Krise Transportation - Pennsylvania Locations is Hiring a Pennsylvania Regional Human Resources Director (Hybrid) Near Harrisburg, PA

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to fill a unique hybrid role that supports our operations across the state of Pennsylvania. This position is not tied to one specific location, offering the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within or adjacent to the state. However, it requires extensive in-state travel to various regions as needed.

Reporting directly to the President, Krise Transportation and on a dotted line basis to the ASTP Chief People Officer, the Director Human Resources will serve as a key member of the Krise senior management team. The Director Human Resources will advise and align the senior management team on people strategies and programs that support the Krise business priorities and company cultural pillars while minimizing risk to the enterprise.

The Director Human Resources will assist in designing, planning and implementing new systems for Recruiting, Retention & Engagement and be locally responsible and accountable for ensuring execution of existing systems and programs in these areas.

The Director Human Resources will lead employee engagement and advocacy efforts within the Krise organization and collaborate with senior leaders, operational line leadership teams and front-line employees to ensure that Krise Transportation culture reflects the Company’s mission, vision & values.

The Director Human Resources will work with the senior management team and key operational leaders to identify and ensure company and governmental human resources related compliance requirements are consistently and fully met.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages and ensures crisp execution of payroll, employee benefits and all employee related information and documentation processes using the Company’s integrated systems. Acts and system owner and SME for Krise Transportation.
  • Provides input and ideas for Krise talent acquisition programs and interfaces/coordinates with the Corporate Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure effective, efficient and scalable recruitment and hiring efforts. Engages with operational leaders and regional recruiting staff to enhance and optimize recruiting, hiring and on-boarding practices and processes. Coordinates with the Krise leadership team to ensure effective setting of recruitment and hiring priorities and workstreams.
  • Directly engages in the field for investigation, understanding and facilitating resolution of employee and labor relations matters to ensure high levels of employee engagement, to promote diversity, equity and inclusion and to minimize potential for and impacts of labor organizing / action.
  • Fosters and facilitates a culture of empowerment in the field organization, and of continuous improvement through feedback and coaching.
  • Facilitates and supports annual operational talent reviews, succession planning and employee development / pipeline evaluation that supports growth and scaling of the business.
  • Monitors and reports on people related metrics and KPIs relevant to talent acquisition, employee relations and employee engagement.
  • Work with operational leaders and the Corporate team to design, implement and track employee training and development programs and development plans.
  • In cooperation with the Krise Safety Director and safety/training staff is an advocate for and assists in building a strong safety culture with proactive risk identification and direct employee engagement.
  • Embraces technology and innovation to enhance employee engagement and experience, increase leader effectiveness and minimize non-value added work in support of routine people related documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Is a strong role model for Krise leaders and employees, cultivating a culture in which employee engagement, safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement/development and diversity, equity and inclusion are demonstrated.
  • Is responsible for hiring, developing and leading a team of HR Business Partners and other staff and creates an engaging and supportive environment for their growth and retention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or similar field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant human resources experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading a team and successfully developing people and talent.
  • Preferred experience working in organizations with large, geographically dispersed field operations supporting non-exempt (hourly) employee populations and front line leaders.
  • Experience in the development, execution and continuous improvement of Human Resources strategy.
  • Experience working in a fast-growth environment and supporting Merger / Acquisition due diligence and integration efforts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience actively using and managing HR software systems including Applicant Tracking, HRIS, Payroll and other related systems. Experience and proficiency with Paycom software and systems would be a plus.
  • Technology proficient, including Microsoft Office suite and other common business software applications.
  • Proficiency with using and analyzing data and presenting information in a clear and concise format.
  • Professional and emotionally intelligent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, creative team environment.

Ability to travel (including overnight) to company operational locations for meetings with employees and leaders; talent acquisition and recruiting events; and general operational support.
