Position OverviewAs a Warehouse Supervisor for the morning shift at Kristen Distributing Company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective performance of all warehousing activities, maintaining high standards of productivity, safety, and accuracy. Your leadership will be vital in training and managing warehouse staff, coordinating with other departments, and continuously seeking ways to improve processes and operations.
Work Schedule This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, commencing at 4:30 AM and concluding upon the completion of all daily route preparations at the warehouse.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour essential duties will include:
  • Evaluate and Improve Performance: Assess and enhance employee performance and warehousing activities.
  • Warehouse Opening Tasks: Perform all necessary opening tasks of the warehouse.
  • Flexible Supervision: Fill in for the evening warehouse supervisor as needed, performing closing duties when required.
  • Clear Communication and Training: Provide clear communication of position expectations and comprehensive training to employees.
  • Productivity Management: Manage, evaluate, and report on warehouse productivity.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain records, report pertinent information, and prepare essential documentation.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with basic maintenance standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Department Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Forklift Operation: Skillfully operate a forklift to support warehouse operations.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee the control and organization of storage and inventory space.
  • Accuracy Verification: Verify the accuracy of inventory and shipments.
  • Implementation of Improvements: Champion the implementation of new methods, processes, and improvements.
  • Order Management: Strategically prepare, pack, schedule, and route orders for delivery.
  • Operational Development: Identify areas within operations that require development and institute innovative changes to enhance current work practices and procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned, showcasing flexibility and a willingness to contribute to team success in a dynamic work environment.

QualificationsTo be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or a supervisory role within a warehousing environment.

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail in maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to implement new methods and improvements, demonstrating a proactive approach to operational development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management skills and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to fill in for evening shifts and take on additional duties as needed.
