Position Summary:

Provide administrative support to a buying team with the goal of providing fresh, high-quality, low-cost items with maximum shelf life to our customers. Enable the team to make sound business decisions in support of the “Customer First” strategy.

Essential Job Functions:

• Understand the impact and significance of a close relationship with our divisions, and have a positive influence on those relationships (Customer First).
• Maintain focus and sense of urgency regarding team performance- specifically… division feedback survey results, service level, unit days-of-supply, short-date add-outs, and aged inventory.
• Interact with all levels of management and administrative support in:

o General Office

o Division Merchandising teams

o Division warehouse and Quality Assurance teams

o Regional Accounting Service Center

o Vendor community

• Assist buyers in the everyday procurement, receiving, shipping, and tracking of product.
• Assist buyers in preparing for vacations, and other occasions where the buyer will be out of the office.
• Assist buyers in transferring product between divisions to balance inventories.
• Generate purchase orders, review product movement, and adjust store orders.
• Set up new items and vendors, execute item distributions to stores, and maintain product costs.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Strong PC skills. Position will utilize Windows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes. Candidates must possess the ability to utilize and learn Kroger-specific mainframe applications including: O.L.P., S.K.O.P.E., Infopac, W.I.N., W.M.S., Business Objects, E.S.P., C.R.P., etc.
